The municipality of South Carolina is doling out the compliments for a timely rescue! The City of Timmonsville was engrossed in a malfunctioning sewer system and indebtedness a couple of years ago and in dire need of an overhaul to their underground infrastructure. The environmental conditions were also in peril. In short, the City was in the throes of economic havoc. Since the financial aspect of these necessary improvements were not manageable, the partnering agreement with the City of Florence was a welcome relief. Many factors played a part in the restructuring and improvements for Timmonsville’s sewers. Because of an all-out effort on behalf of the City of Florence and its counterparts, a Municipal Achievement Award was bestowed on the City this month. Congratulations!! While there is still work to be done, the majority of the sewer rehabilitations are complete. Only a fraction of the repairs are remaining and estimated to be finished before 2017.
